An Intervention Specialist is someone trained on intervention and nonphysical methods for preventing or managing disruptive behavior, and in recognizing at-risk behavior in the areas of substance abuse. Some of our intervention specialists are people who are recovered from the abuses of drugs and alcohol or have lived with others who have experienced substance abuse issues. The personal experience is what gives them the intuitive recognition.
Our Intervention Specialists are trained to recognize at-risk behaviors and will only recommend that a person seek professional care if these behaviors are recognized. They are not counselors or medical professionals. We always advocate seeking professional help if any medical, mental or substance abuse health problems are present or imminent.
